The Walther P38
The Walther P38 is a German semi-automatic pistol designed by Walther Arms.
History[]
The first designs of the P38 were submitted to the German Army, who requested that it have an external hammer rather than a hidden one. The P38 concept was accepted in 1938, but the army only started issuing "test" pistols for a year afterwards. Walther's third series of pistols finally satisfied the army and P38s began production in the 1940s.
