Yila Timothy Kang (credited as Tim Kang) is an American actor and producer best known for his portrayal of Kimball Cho on The Mentalist.


Kang was born in San Francisco, California, on March 16, 1973, as Yila Timothy Kang. He was of Korean descent. Kang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley. He later received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the A.R.T. Institute at Harvard University. Kang also studied acting in Russia at the Moscow Art Theatre School. He started an acting career while he was 26 years old. Kang became best known for his role on the CBS-produced series The Mentalist as Special Agent Kimball Cho. He also appeared in Rambo and TV shows such as The Office, Chappelle's Show, and Monk. In 2012, Kang launched a production company named One Shoot Films. The company's first film project focused on child abductions and victims of child sexual abuse.

Kang portrayed Charlie Senarak, a killer and a suspect in a sarin gas attack on a city bus, in the Season Eleven episode "The Witness".
