The Bangladeshi Unsub (so named by this wikia, real name unknown) is a spree killer, stalker, and abductor who appears in the Season Two episode of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, "Made In...".
Background[]
Almost nothing is known about he unsub, not even his name. It is known that he was a worker at Balan Plaza, a mixed-use factory that was home to a number of Western clothing labels outsourcing their labor. His wife and underage daughter were also workers at Balan Plaza. The working conditions there were horrible, with accidents being very common, and the workers were viewed as more disposable than they products they were directly producing. Six months prior to the episode, the building's lower three floors collapsed due to a fire. Many people were killed in the collapse, mostly because they were buried alive and eventually suffocated to death when local rescue efforts were slow. The man's wife and daughter were among those killed in the collapse, whilst he survived. The collapse did not garner any significant coverage because the factory owner, who was well connected, downplayed the situation. As a result, he eventually snapped and targeted David Curry and Robbie Garcia, two American businessmen trying to start their own clothing label, hoping to project his rage onto them.
Made In...[]
Stalking Curry and Garcia along the route of the taxi cab they were taking, the unsub stopped the cab by having his car sit in the middle of the road they were driving on where it was isolated. He then argued with the driver, Jamal Muti, then slashed his throat with a machete. Threatening Curry and Garcia, the unsub abducts them and forces them to the site of the factory, where they're held captive. Intermittently, the unsub arrives and tortures Garcia to Curry's horror, breaking his leg with a mallet, beating him, and asphyxiating him all non-fatally. When Curry tries to lift Garcia up and run them out of the abandoned site, the unsub appears and kills the slower, more broken Garcia by slashing his throat as well with the same machete. Curry escapes and runs for his life, but just as the unsub catches up to him and is ready to kill him too, the IRT arrives and starts a standoff with the unsub. He rants about his loss and the projected motives he took out on Curry and Garcia. He is swiftly arrested and incarcerated.
Modus Operandi[]
The unsub targeted David Curry and Robbie Garcia as surrogates for his revenge from their wanting to start an outsourced clothing manufacturing business. During the attack on the taxi, the unsub set up a roadblock on the cab's route before he slashed the driver Jamal Muti's throat with a machete when they came to a disagreement. Then, he abducted Curry and Garcia to hold them captive in Balan Plaza, where he tortured Robbie by various ways, which included beating and suffocation through unknown means, as well as breaking his left leg with a hammer. Later, when David and Robbie attempted to escape, the unsub killed Robbie, also by slashing his throat with a machete. He would later try to kill David with the same method. In one murder, his signature was shoving a piece of cloth down the throat to evoke his motives and how the deaths of his family happened.
