Fake Romani Family[]

Maybe "Fake" was not the better adjective to label them with, but letting "Romani Family" alone will not do; they were not REAL Romani, they had botched up too much their traditions and culture to able them to use the term; I know real Romani families and their reaction if somebody from their people should do anything remotely resembling what those from CM did... they'd have a conniption to begin with, and the rest would not be pretty, and rightfully so. So people... ideas, please? - Mvpl 14:49, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Pseudo-Romani Family? -HI
I don't know, I'm drawing a blank, in english and in spanish, not my day. All I want it's a name that don't allow for doubts; they were mauling the most important thing for the Romani, the Family. - Mvpl 15:08, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm. We need more input. -HI

Let's just simply call it Romani Family even if they are fake. We can call them fake in the article and discribe there botchering family culture and traditions.

Romani vs Romanian[]

Romani is the PC term for the people commonly known as "Gipsies". Romanian is a person born in the country Romania, or that speaks the Romanian language.

Now, there are a lot of Romani in Romania (it is in fact the European country with most Romani people) but the name similarity is just a coincidence. Most Romani are not Romanian, and most Romanians are not Romani. The Romani and Romanian languages aren't even related: one is an Indo-Iranian language, the other derives from Latin.

This often causes confusion in Hollywood and it is likely why the family in the episode is Romani and Romanian, and speaks the Romanian, rather than Romani language. However, the relevant connection to the Tene-Bimbos is that both groups are Romani, not that they are Romanian. I don't know if the Tene-Bimbos also hail from Romania or if they identify with any European country in particular - I assume they don't, given that their main residence is San Francisco - but it's irrelevant either way.--Eljuma (talk) 14:49, December 27, 2015 (UTC)

"The" Romani Family[]

Since every other article about criminal organizations has an article in the title, shouldn't this be renamed "The Romani Family"?Eljuma (talk) 16:46, June 2, 2017 (UTC)
