Ryan-James Hatanaka (also credited as RJ Hatanaka) is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Gabriel Kinslow in the dramatic romance series When Hope Calls.
Biography[]
Little is known about Hatanaka's past, including his birthday, where he was born, where he grew up, what the names of his parents are, and why he wanted to be an actor. What is known is that Hatanaka graduated from St. Michael's College, Toronto, the National Theatre School of Canada, and the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Hatanaka got his first on-screen role in 2010, when he was cast as an electrocuted vampire in the comedic adventure film My Babysitter's a Vampire. Hatanaka got his first major role in 2019, when he was first cast as Gabriel Kinslow, the Constable of Brookfield, for all 12 episodes of the dramatic romance series When Hope Calls. Hatanaka has also appeared in TV shows and movies such as Chicago P.D., Eye Candy, The Family Romance, Hope, Foursome, A Simple Wedding, The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder, I Can I Will I Did, Beauty, Joseph Pulitzer: Voice of the People, Nurses, Nancy Drew, and Criminal Minds: Evolution.
