Ronald Roy "Ron" Melendez is an American actor best known for his role as Doctor Andy Archer in the hit medical soap opera series General Hospital as well as the spin-off series General Hospital: Night Shift.

Biography[]

Melendez was born on December 1, 1972, in West Covina, California. The names of Melendez's parents are not known, as is why he wanted to become an actor. What is known is that Melendez graduated from both the Bishop Amat High School and the University of California, Los Angeles. Melendez got his first on-screen role in 1990, when he was cast as Craig in the dramatic comedy film An American Summer. Melendez got his first major recurring role in 1998, when he was first cast as Jeremy Bradford, an orphan taken in by series protagonist Ned Logan, for all 18 episodes of the dramatic western series Legacy. Melendez has also appeared in TV shows and movies like Diagnosis Murder, General Hospital, General Hospital: Night Shift, CSI: NY, Grey's Anatomy, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Outlaw Trail: The Treasure of Butch Cassidy, Castle, Ghost Whisperer, Bitch Slap, Major Crimes, Awake, The Advocate, A Reason, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS, and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

Melendez portrayed Owen Wagner, a man whose daughter was abducted by Saraphina Labeau, in the Season One episode "Paper Orphans".
