Robert “Bob” Kinney, a.k.a “Mr. Lonelyheart” was a misogynistic criminal accomplice, attempted assassin, and attempted murderer who appeared in the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season Three episode “Tara”.
Background[]
Not much is known about Kinney, only that he was a misogynist with homicidal tendencies. He tried to join a serial killer network made by Elias Voit, but was banned for putting up a hate website that almost leaked the network’s actions. On an unknown date, he assaulted an unnamed woman and his case was prosecuted by Evan Delray. In 2025, a year after being released from prison, The Disciple, the new leader of the network, found out that he had connections with Evan and hired him to break into his house to steal DNA. With the ruse of helping to check Evan’s house due to a gas leak next door, Kinney decided to steals his clothes and leave. Afterwards, he was sent by The Disciple to kill Evan, Tara Lewis, and Rebecca Wilson at a parking lot. Meanwhile, the Disciple would murder Jeff Darcy and plant Evan’s DNA on a mask that was left on Darcy’s corpse.
Tara[]
After shooting them in the parking lot, missing Rebecca but hitting Lewis and Evan, Tara is sent to the hospital for gunshot wounds. During the investigation, Kinney was found shot dead in his car.
Modus Operandi[]
Since Kinney didn’t kill any of his victims, the term M.O. is misused. When he intended to kill his victims, he would shoot them with a gun and leave a bullet casing which had a small heart on its shell as a sort of love note. This did not change when he committed his first actual attempted murder in the parking lot.
Profile[]
While no profile was made for Kinney, he was described by Voit as being an incel and deeply misogynistic.
Real-Life Comparison[]
Kinney appears to be inspired by Eric Williams - Both are assassins (attempted in Kinney's case), were prosecuted by their respective targets for preceding criminal records, their weapons were handguns, and they carried out their crimes in parking lots and during home invasions.
