— Nevins' last lines and anarchistic vies on the U.S.
|
Mitch Nevins was the aide and accomplice to Benjamin Reeves who appeared in the Criminal Minds: Evolution episode "Oedipus Wrecks".
History[]
Nothing is revealed about Nevins' personal background. He's implied to be an anarchist, which may have been how he was indoctrinated into working for the Reeves family. After Reeves raped Jessica Sayer, he showed up at the hospital before the police did and threatened and paid her into silence. As Reeves' personal assistant, he actively participated in providing to Reeves women he killed, covering up the crimes, and cleaning up after him. Nevins was later seen informing Reeves the FBI was investigating, Reeves telling him to handle it on his own. Nevins took Reeves' dental fitting he used in the murders, along with other evidence, left them in his car, and went to the FBI to distract them. He implied he was the killer without confessing, and when the agents told him they suspected Reeves, he demanded a lawyer. He later refused a deal and spoke against the U.S. government, saying he wanted to go to jail. Nivens was incarcerated shortly thereafter.
Modus Operandi[]
As the private aide and active conspirator of Benjamin, Nevins arranged the lures for the victims and the cover-ups. Nevins provided the applications for Benjamin's app accounts, the drugs to sedate the victims and blanche their hair, the chains top bind them with, even the cleaning supplies to scrub the scene. Nevins would be present during the murders as security and assist in transporting the victims' remains across state lines. When the authorities were closing in on Benjamin, Nevins gave false confessions, easily provided falsely incriminating evidence, including Benjamin's mouthpiece he used to torture the victims, and avoided more revealing details and asked for a lawyer to stonewall, hoping the Reeves family would bail him out in time, which they didn't.
Profile[]
No profile of Nevins was made, as the BAU were more focused on Benjamin.
