Criminal Minds Wiki

This list covers all minor criminals mentioned in Season One.

Plain Sight

Marcia Gordon's assailant

A teenage, African-American boy who attacked an elderly woman named Marcia Gordon, with the intention of raping her. However, he was unsuccessful and arrested as a result. The boy was brought in suspected of being "The Tommy Killer", but eventually ruled out. It's safe to presume he was convicted of Gordon's attempted rape and incarcerated for it.

Natural Born Killer

Franklin V. Perotta

The father of prolific hitman and serial killer Vincent Perotta, Franklin was a hunter and well-like member of his community in Baltimore, Maryland. However, he was secretly abusive towards his wife and son, beating them at every opportunity. Vincent finally snapped and murdered Franklin on October 12, 1975, making his death appear as a tragic hunting accident. He would go on to use his father's home as his base of operations, where the basement would be used to torture and kill his victims in.

The Fox

Karl Arnold's unnamed father

The father of serial killer Karl Arnold, he physically and sexually abused his son as a child. This caused Arnold to develop a deep sense of self-hatred and presumably his own pedophilic tendencies (and a driving factor in his serial killings). His status afterwards is unknown.

Eric Miller's foster parents

A foster couple who physically and sexually abused murder suspect Eric Miller while he was under their care as a child. It is unknown if they were ever prosecuted for the child abuse.

William Devries

A mentioned incarcerated child serial killer. At the beginning of the episode, Elle is on a train to Texas to interview him. His file shows that he killed five boys, apparently adolescents. A bloody crime scene photo suggests that he used some sharp weapon to kill them. It is unknown if Elle interviewed Devries after the hostage situation she was caught up in ended.

The Popular Kids

The Montana Strangler

One of Morgan's earliest cases he worked together with Gideon, the Montana Strangler (so named in this wiki) targeted and killed at least five girls. The case brought about a great deal of nightmares for Morgan, who felt like he had been responsible for a later murder as he had told the police that he could make a profile if he had more information, i.e. another victim.

Abductor of Deborah Addison

A case Gideon worked on in 1985. While walking home from school, thirteen-year-old Deborah Louise Addison was abducted by a predator. The BAU was able to successfully profile and locate the unsub and saved Deborah before any harm could come to her.

Blood Hungry

Farrell Belvedere

He took too much LSD, flipped out at a Winn-Dixie and tore up a cheese counter.

Mark Ward

He committed 5 counts of larceny and tried to kill himself. He was committed for a year and is now living with his parents.

What Fresh Hell?

2 unnamed sex offenders

2 unnamed sex offenders who turned up in Garcia's search. According to her, one offender's rap sheet was so long that he should still be in prison. The other was paroled on 2 counts of sexual assault and 1 count of rape. Morgan asked Garcia if the offender had any child victims but Garcia told him that the offender did not.

Dennis Jones

He registered as a sex offender for soliciting with a prostitute.

Lynn Dempsey

An employee of Hichcock Pharmaceuticals, who became romantically involved with poisoner Edward Hill and assisted him in a mass poisoning that affected eight people. To eliminate loose ends, he later murdered her with a toxic combination of several drugs and poisons.

Riding the Lightning

Jacob Dawes' unnamed mother

The emotionally and sexually abusive mother of serial killer Jacob Dawes, her abuse ultimately formed Jacob's psychopathy and triggered his killings. Her fate afterwards is unknown.

Sarah Jean Mason's unnamed father

He was a military man who abused his wife, but never his daughter Sarah Jean Mason (though it is mentioned they never saw eye-to-eye). He later died at some point. The abuse she witnessed is likely what made Sarah gravitate towards Jacob Dawes, seeing a "freedom" in him.

Unfinished Business

The Boise Child Killer

The Boise Child Killer (real name unspecified) was an apparently prolific serial killer in Boise, Idaho, who targeted children. He was captured through a profile given by Max Ryan.

Unnamed bomber case

One of Gideon's earliest cases, supervised by Max Ryan. Presumably as a form of hazing, Ryan and the other investigators planted a list of the FBI Director's whereabouts over the next 48 hours among the bomber's things for Gideon to find. When he did, he rushed up 25 flights of stairs and interrupted a meeting between the Director and the Attorney General in an attempt to save him.

The Tribe

Unnamed mass murderer

A man who killed an unspecified number of people and was later arrested and imprisoned. He became cellmates with Jackson Cally at some point during Cally's own imprisonment. Cally manipulated the man into killing an inmate who threatened the former. It is assumed that the man was charged and tried for this new murder.

Kyle Van Owen and Eugene Leland

Peter Griesen hired and payed them to kidnap his own daughter, Ingird. They saw him on the news and turned themselves in and gave Ingrid to the authorities.

A Real Rain

The Boys in Iowa

The Boys in Iowa was one of the first cases Hotch and Gideon worked together. Two children had been murdered and the authorities had no leads. Gideon and Hotch delivered the profile, which led them to a local 4H leader. As they moved in to arrest him, he held them at gunpoint and a brief standoff ensued, but they were able to talk him down and make an arrest. When the case went to court, however, the man’s wife gave him a false alibi for the murders, leading to him being acquitted and released. In the end, he was finally incarcerated after killing a third child.

Attempted robber

At least one person who attempted to rob Albert and Gail Doyle, the parents of future serial killer Marvin Doyle, but wound up fatally shooting them in the process. The murders went on to be one of the triggers for Marvin's serial killing.

Will Sykes's mugger

A man who mugged future cop killer Will Sykes. Apparently, the mugging was so severe, Sykes had to be in intensive care for two days. The mugging would motivate Sykes to want to copy Marvin Doyle's crimes.

Rachel Holman

A woman who was convicted of cocaine possession in 2004 and acquitted of killing her boyfriend with a cocaine overdose after claiming to be a drug addict. She was later killed by killer vigilante Marvin Doyle as a result.

Kaveh Surrani

A man who killed someone while driving drunk and was acquitted of vehicular manslaughter in July 2002. He was later killed by Marvin Doyle as a result.

Walter Derbin

A domestic abuser, his charges of spousal battery were dropped mid-trial after the case fell apart and his wife refused to testify. He was killed by Marvin Doyle four months after this.

Martin Breeman

A priest and pedophile who was acquitted of child molestation after claiming to be a victim of mass hysteria. As a result he was killed by Marvin Doyle. His case was later used to trick Will Sykes into revealing he wasn't the killer.

Shawn Cooley

A man who was acquitted of killing two Port Authority police officers after the only witness against him was shot six times outside his apartment. He was killed a year later by Marvin Doyle.

Ted Elmore

A man who killed his parents but was acquitted at trial after claiming they abused him. He was non-fatally shot and taken hostage by Marvin Doyle but was saved by Hotch and Gideon, who shot down Doyle.

Haskins, Georgia case

Three white men who killed a black teenager and were acquitted despite four witnesses seeing it.

Somebody's Watching

Joseph Martinez

A paparazzo who had taken nude pictures of Lila Archer. He was briefly suspected of the serial/spree killings surrounding Archer, but that was later revealed to be Maggie Lowe. However, Martinez did break into the place where Archer was being kept in protective custody, and ended up taking pictures of her kissing Spencer Reid. He was subsequently caught and arrested for trespassing, and his pictures were destroyed.

Secrets and Lies

Olivia Hopkins' captors

A group of men who took CIA Agent Olivia Hopkins hostage during one of her field operations in Europe. During this time, they sexually assaulted her. She was eventually rescued, though it is unknown what happened to her captors.

The Fisher King, Part 1
