Leonard "Lenny" Hagland was a cop killer, gangster, and the leader of an Aryan supremacist group known as The Horsemen who appeared in the Season Thirteen episode of Criminal Minds, "Ex Parte".
Background
Almost nothing is known about Hagland's early life other than he was born in 1943 and married a woman and had three unnamed daughters with her. His son, Josh Martin, was born from an affair he had with a Mexican woman named Gabriela; he admits to Rossi that he wished his wife had given birth to him instead. Nevertheless, he took Gabriela as his mistress and snuck her across the border to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, where she gave birth to him. Hagland was hardly around and it wasn't until years later that Josh found out he had a whole other family in Virginia. At some later point in his life, he became the leader of a gang known as The Horsemen and his son became involved in it too. In April of 2015, Hagland shot and killed two unnamed Virginia state troopers for "trespassing" on his land and was arrested. He was scheduled to be executed by lethal injection.
Ex Parte
Lenny was brought in for interrogation after his son and his lackeys took a law firm hostage. At the end of the episode, Lenny and his son are both scheduled for lethal injection and are presumably executed afterwards.
Modus Operandi
Since Leonard only killed two victims in a single event, the term "M.O." is somewhat misused. He killed the Virginia state troopers by shooting them in the back with an unspecified firearm.
Profile
No profile was made of Lenny since the BAU was focused on his son's hostage situation.
