— Epstein speaking to Charlie Gasparino

Jeffrey Edward Epstein was an American pedophilic, hebephilic and ephebophilic serial rapist, human trafficker, and possible proxy killer who raped over a thousand people with the help of his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.
Background[]
Jeffrey Epstein was born on January 20, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York City to Seymour George Epstein, a groundskeeper and gardener, and Pauline "Paula" Epstein (née Stolofsky), a school aide and homemaker. He was the older brother of Mark Lawrence Epstein, whom he grew up with in Sea Gate, Brooklyn.
First Crimes and Trial[]
Epstein's 2006 mugshot.
Before his widely publicized sex crimes, Epstein had a very early, minor criminal conviction related to carrying an antique sword, which he described as getting in trouble for carrying the item and having to ship it out of the country. Few other details or dates for this incident are publicly known, other than that it occurred before 1981.
The first significant investigation into Epstein's sexual abuse of minors began in March 2005, when the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported to the Palm Beach Police Department that he had molested their daughter. The case never went to a full trial. Instead, under the terms of the NPA, Epstein appeared in a Florida courtroom on June 30, 2008, and pleaded guilty.
Second Arrest and Death[]
Epstein was placed in a cell with mass murderer and disgraced policeman Nicholas Tartaglione.
On July 23, 2019, Epstein was found clinging to ife with injuries around his neck, indicative of a hanging. Tartaglione was cleared in an investigation, and almost immediately, theories ranged publicly from an attempt by Epstein himself for a transfer to an attempted murder conspiracy. Writings indicated Epstein was suffering paranoid delusions, and he prepared his last will and testament.
On August 9, while Epstein was in the Secure Housing Unit, his cellmate was removed, the guards didn't check him routine and even fell asleep, and the cameras in front of his cell malfunctioned. He was found hanged in his cell the next morning, dying at the hospital after guards performed CPR on him.

On Criminal Minds[]
- Season Nine
- "Internal Affairs" - While never directly mentioned or referenced in the show, Epstein appears to be an inspiration for Brian Cochran - Both are gangsters with high-class statuses and substantial connections, had jobs requiring international travel, created a large international network with crimes including human trafficking and (allegedly in Epstein's case) contract killing, had Caucasian right-hand women directly recruiting victims, and used their influence to divert investigations and legal efforts away from themselves and their networks.
On Evolution[]
- Season Two
- "Contagion" - Epstein was referenced in the episode in reference to the gold stars, who they believed to be victims of a conspiracy which tortured children.
- "Save the Children" - While not mentioned or reference in this episode, Epstein appears to have inspired the seasons overarching antagonist, Frank Church - Both were ephebohilic serial rapists and gangsters with histories of academic failure (Epstein dropped out of school, Church failed military training), created international criminal networks for their operations, complete with their own private properties, both hd high profile contacts they used as accomplices, including in the justice system, primarily targeted Caucasian teensge girls (though both targeted other victims), they arranged for their accomplices to abuse and batter the victims (Epstein trafficked young girls and had them pimped out, Church raped the girls and had other children sexually abused to condition them), were involved in contract killing (allegedly in Epstein's case), diverted investigations into their criminal activities (Church had people killed to cover it up, Epstein used powerful people to manipulate the public), and were killed before they could face prosecution for his crimes (Church was killed by Jade Waters, while there are several theories that Epstein was killed so he wouldn't divulge the names of his accomplices).
