Janine Sherman Barrois is an American television writer and producer.


Barrois began her television career working as a writer on The Jamie Foxx Show, writing a total of three episodes across its second and third seasons. She went on to become a co-producer of The PJs and was then hired as an executive story editor for Third Watch during its second season, co-writing two episodes of that season. She was later promoted to co-producer for the show's third season and wrote two further episodes for it in 2001. She was promoted again to producer for the fourth season, for which she wrote four episodes. Barrois returned as a producer for the show's fifth season and wrote two of its episodes. She was promoted to supervising producer mid-season, and then co-executive producer for the show's sixth and final season, for which she wrote four episodes, accounting to a total of fourteen episodes for Third Watch.

After her time on Third Watch ended, she became a co-executive producer for another series called ER, joining it during its twelfth season, writing three episodes for it. For the following season, she wrote four episodes. Barrois was promoted to executive producer for the fourteenth season and wrote three more pivotal episodes for it. In the final season of ER, Barrois wrote two additional episodes. For her work on the twelfth season of ER, specifically for writing the episode "Darfur" in 2007, Barrois was nominated for a Humanitas Prize and an Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series. She later received two further nominations for the latter award for her work on the show's thirteenth and fifteenth seasons, respectively. Barrois also became a writer and producer for Criminal Minds, writing a total of sixteen episodes, before signing an overall deal with Warner Bros. after Season Ten and thus, leaving the show.
