Benjamin David "Jamie" Elman is a Canadian-American actor and voice actor best known for his role as Tharan Cedrax in the science-fiction role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Biography[]

Elman was born in New York City, New York, on July 5, 1976. However, he was raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and attended Jewish day school. There, he began performing in plays such as The Children's Hour and Annie Get Your Gun. He then landed his first roles on the TV series Are You Afraid of the Dark? and the film Johnny Mnemonic. Elman graduated from McGill University with a BA in English. He later became part of the ensemble cast of the film Shattered Glass.

Elman has also guest-starred on numerous popular series including Crossing Jordan, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, CSI: NY, and The Closer. More recent roles include a role in California Dreaming, for which he won the Un Certain Regard award at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. He also portrayed a young Sigmund Freud in When Nietzsche Wept, and on the small screen, he improvised in HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. In 2009, Elman began work on his first web-series, titled Brainstorm for Dailymotion.com.
