Criminal Minds Wiki

Damian Andrews is a Caribbean kingpin, proxy killer, gangster, international criminal and attempted murderer who appeared in the Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders Season Two episode, "Obey".

Background[]

Damian was a drug kingpin in Jamaica known for ruthless violence to keep up his enterprises, personally or by enforcers. He had an adopted son named Zion from his deceased mother, an Obeah priestess, raising Zion only to utilize him in his organized crime. Zion was abused repeatedly by Damian, turning him into a ruthless killer of at least seven people under Damian's orders. Zion was nicknamed "The Sticker" because of his signature to disembowel the people he murdered. One time, he relented in killing a woman named Jubilee, as she reminded him of his mother from being pregnant at the time of the attempt. As a result, Damian found him useless, shooting him in his head and burying him in a shallow grave in the Blue Mountains. Zion miraculously survived, but bullet fragments were lodged in his brain and diminished his capacity to a psychosis involving hallucinations of the people he murdered.

Obey[]

Zion trekked all the way back to Damian's hideout, killing three more people and hallucinating their spirits after they died. At his most heightened state, he arrived and confronted Damian, holding him at gunpoint with the pistol of a man Zion murdered earlier. Damian retorted with insulting Zion for not obeying orders, despondent over nearly killing Zion after all the crimes he'd committed for him. The IRT soon arrives with Jamaican police. Garrett tells Zion he knows the truth about the attempt on his life and his mental condition and tries to convince him to surrender. However, Damian overpowers Zion, grabs the gun and takes him hostage. Garrett insults him in condemnation for his criminal enterprise and for brutalizing Zion as he did even after adopting him. When Garrett calls him weak for his actions, Damian tries to shoot Garrett but Simmons tackles Damian from behind. Both Damian and Zion are arrested, and Damian mocks Garrett for being unable to kill him, stating that he is "weak too". However, Garrett retorts by saying he got what he wanted: Damian alive and in custody, now able to provide all the information needed to dismantle his own operations. Garrett later arranges for Damian to be extradited to the U.S., rather than placed in a Jamaican prison, a decision supported by Deputy Superintendent McDaniels so as to distance Damian from any contacts or men he may have within the Caribbean prison systems.

Modus Operandi[]

Damian's M.O. of most of his personal and proxy crimes as a drug kingpin is unknown. When Damian employed Zion as a hitman, he had Zion stab and disembowel people Damian ordered him to with a hunting knife. When Zion relented to kill Jubilee, Damian shot him in his head and buried him in a shallow grave in the Blue Mauntains, only for Zion to survive with the bullet still in his brain. In a confrontation that same evening, Damian stole the gun Zion had from a previous victim and held him hostage with it, then tried to shoot Garrett to get out of a standoff with the IRT and Jamaican police.

Profile[]

No profile of Andrews was made by the IRT, as they were investigating Zion Andrews instead. He was described by Garrett as a sociopath with a narcissistic personality disorder.

  1. A news article on Monty's screen regarding Zion's adoption identifies Damian by this name. It's unclear whether Damian actually used this alias at any time, perhaps posing as a relative of Zion's during the adoption, or if this is due to an error on the designer's part. However, a later article read by Simmons identifies Damian by his true name so the latter may be more likely
  2. Because the US Justice and State Departments sought to extradite Damian, it can be assumed his crimes, or at least the crimes of his organization, spanned multiple countries outside Jamaica, including the U.S.
