The Colt New Service is a revolver made by Colt.
History[]
The New Serivce was first produced in 1898. It was initially chambered in .38 Long Colt, but after reports from soldiers complaining about its lack of stopping power reached Colt, they replaced them with new Colt revolvers. The New Service made a comeback in 1909 chambered in .45 Long Colt and quickly became popular with the U.S. Army. They were used by various armed forces worldwide in several wars and under many different names and varying calibers.
