Colt

Colt's Manufacturing company (often shortened to just Colt) is an American firearm manufacturing company.

History[]

Colt was founded and named after Samuel Colt, who founded the company in 1855 after succeeding his first company, Patent Arms Manufacturing Company of Paterson, New Jersey, Colt's Patent. Colt had originally been given a patent for his first designed revolver in 1835, but the company's first built weapon was actually the Colt First Model Ring Lever rifle. With much turbulence, the company produced many weapons that would go on to be used throughout many wars in America's history. Arguably the company's most successful and iconic weapons are the M1911 pistol and the AR-15 assault rifle (both of which have been copied by other companies).
