Trivia[]
- "Breath play" is another term for erotic asphyxiation, a sexual practice in which one is intentionally non-fatally asphyxiated, either by his or her own hand or at the consensual hand of someone else, to achieve arousal.
- The book Bare Reflections bears remarkable similarities to the real-life erotic romance novel Fifty Shades of Grey written by E.L. James, which controversially featured graphic scenes of BDSM. A film adaptation of the book was released almost a month prior to the airing of the episode.
- In fact, a promotional TV spot for the episode parodies the title of Fifty Shades of Grey, stating "Fifty shades of pain", possibly as means of foreshadowing.
