The Barrett Model 98 Bravo (often shortened to 98B) is a bolt action sniper rifle designed by Barrett Firearms Manufacturing.
History[]
The 98B was first conceived in 1997 when Barrett decided to create a new tactical rifle chambered for .338 Lapua that was not a sport gun. The first prototype Model 98 rifle was presented at a 1998 S.H.O.T. Show, but it never went into production and Barrett dropped the concept. The 98 project was picked up again by the company founder's son and the 98B was finally produced in 2008 and continues to this day.
