— Richmond apologizes to Harrison
Little is disclosed about Richmond's personal life, other than he attended Mecklinburg State University and was a member of the Beta Sigma Delta fraternity and also the college football team, serving as its quarterback. The team was coached by Michael Smith. On February 16, 2013, he and another member of the football team, Trevor Burkett, attended a fraternity party, where they decided to rape a party guest, Lauryn-Anne Harrison, alongside Christopher Stafford, another frat member. In order to ensure that they don't get caught, Richmond forced Lauryn-Anne to drink vodka so then she could be discredited for being drunk once she reported the rape. The three then dumped her in front of her home, where she was later discovered by her sister Sheila. Lauryn-Anne later fell into a coma as a result of the attack, but Smith covered up the details of her rape with the help of Edward Calder.
What Happens in Mecklinburg
On April 9, 2014, over one year after the attack, Richmond is abducted by Harrison, who is grief-stricken after doctors removed Lauryn-Anne's life support earlier that day. She demands details about the rape, but when he replies that he can't remember much due to being drunk on that day, she beats him in the leg with a blunt instrument, asking if "that jogged [his] memory". He then opens up about what happened, which prompts her to kill Smith (who had also been abducted by her) in front of him in a fit of rage. Then, the BAU burst in and convince Harrison to release Richmond and Christy White, an attendant of the party who was also abducted. When Harrison surrenders, Richmond is promptly released from his restraints and then arrested for Lauryn-Anne's rape, and presumably incarcerated for it alongside Burkett and Calder.
Since Richmond only killed one person (not to mention unintentionally), the term "M.O." is somewhat misused. When he attacked Lauryn-Anne Harrison, he raped her alongside Burkett and Stafford, then forced her to drink Vodka, but the ingestion proved to be fatal.
No profile of Richmond was made by the BAU, since they were more focused on Sheila.
