The Fisher King: Part 1 (lit. "El rey pescador") es el nombre del episodio vigésimo segundo o #22 de la primer temporada de Mentes Criminales. Fue lanzado el 10 de mayo de 2006 por CBS.
Sinopsis[]
Elle y Morgan planean unas vacaciones de dos semanas en el hotel que dirige Gerald Dupree (Aaron D. Spears), un amigo de Morgan, ya que le han dado unas merecidas vacaciones a todo el equipo. Mientras Reid y Hotchner pasarán ese tiempo con sus respectivas familias y Gideon perdiendose en un bosque. Ningún miembro del equipo sabe que un asesino, que los conoce y tiene fotografías y datos de todos, los acecha; un asesino que tiene encerrada a una joven. Mientras Elle y Morgan se lo pasan en grande ligando en el complejo turístico de Dupree, JJ y García se han quedado en la central, Hotchner intentando hacer limpieza en casa y Gideon preparando una cita. Pero es Reid quien se divierte menos ya que ha acudido al centro donde reside su madre, Diana (Jane Lynch) una profesora de literatura del siglo XV, enferma de esquizofrenia.
Los miembros del equipo se ven forzados a regresar de sus vacaciones tras recibir, cada uno de ellos en sus respectivos lugares de descanso, diversas pistas que apuntan a que se están cometiendo una serie de asesinatos. El primero en recibir un mensaje es Hotchner que recibe una extraña llamada del asesino que lo pone sobre aviso. En el complejo turístico donde se encuentran de vacaciones los dos agentes del equipo aparece una persona asesinada que no tiene cabeza en una de las habitaciones y Elle es detenida ya que las manchas de sangre conducen a su habitación mientras que García tiene un intruso en sus ordenadores que le ha pirateado el sistema y Gideon ve frustrada su cita cuando recibe un paquete que contiene una cabeza humana. JJ también recibe un paquete con un cuadro que contiene una mariposa y el lema “La han buscado pero hasta ahora no la han encontrado”. Por último Reid recibe en la clínica de su madre un paquete que contiene una llave antigua y una nota donde se le dice que alguien morirá si no la salva y que llame a Gideon porque ya lo sabe.
Cuando se reúnen para comenzar la investigación y ponen en común los diferentes mensajes recibidos, comprenden que alguno de ellos también podría encontrarse en peligro.
